About Us
The Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System (VBHCS) serves a thirty one county area of Middle and Southeastern Tennessee. This organization is made up mental health centers previously known as Johnson Mental Health Center, Hiwassee Mental Health Center, Plateau Mental Health Center, The Guidance Center and Cumberland Mental Health Services. Each of these Centers has been providing mental health and alcohol and drug services for approximately thirty years, respectively.
This organization offers a full array of mental health and substance abuse services available to residents of the area. These services include outpatient, emergency, transitional/residential, forensics, consultation and education, and two services (case management and crisis stabilization) which cut across all services. In adult outpatient services alone, we have provided treatment to over 24,000 Tennesseeans in the last year. Our clinicians have extensive training and expertise in both addictions and mental health treatment.
All services are provided without regard to age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation/identity or disability. |
