Allan Schwartz Interviewed by the BBC about "The Eyes Are the Windows to the Soul"
We are very excited to announce that one of our regular bloggers, Allan Schwartz, LCSW, Ph.D., was interviewed by the BBC World News this past Monday.
The show was called Outlook and was based on an article Allan wrote a year ago called called "The Eyes Are the Windows to the Soul" in which he discusses the various meanings of making and avoiding eye contact.
Allan has revised that piece with updated information and you can read that here.
We asked Allan how the interview experience was for him and here's what he told us, "I was really pleased to have the opportunity to work with the people from the BBC. Having done this sort of thing just a few times before, the people at the BBC were very friendly, clear headed, supportive and helpful and that includes Matthew Bannister, the host of the show. I spoke to them several times by phone and they asked me questions about my views on the importance of eye contact. They seemed very enthusiastic and assured me the show would be good. I enjoyed the entire experience. To my thinking, they were not very "commercial" in their behaviors or attitudes. They wanted quality information for their audience. I believe we have a lot to learn from them about broadcasting."
